The most well-known multiplayer pen and paper game, Battleship, was created during World War 2. Each participant has a 10×10 grid on which the ships are distributed at random. In turns, each player shoots on the hostile grid in an effort to sink their opponent’s fleet. Fire is used to indicate hits, whereas a water splash indicates misses. A player can reload after hitting an enemy ship. The winner of the game is the one who completely annihilates their opponent’s fleet.
